Some of these lessons have extensions that give a reasonable amount of time and others you are able to create. With these lessons, I feel that your students will be able to walk away with something new that they have learned and can carry with them throughout their education.
This math lesson includes a book called Counting Wildflowers by Bruce McMillan. Each page of this book has twenty circles at the bottom of the page and only so many of those circles are colored. Students are able to write an equation of how many circles are colored and how many more need to be colored in order to make twenty. For example, 17+3=20. Students can also work on subtraction equations.
This lesson can be very fun and educational for the students because they learn the concept of electricity. The teacher needs to put together a kit for about two to three students that will include a brown lunch sack, one C cell battery, two insulated copper wires, one battery holder and two brass battery clips, one small flashlight bulb and socket. Students will explore with these objects on their own and see what they discover.

This lesson will demonstrate how to teach your students how to make a circular graphic organizer that will show the circle story format. The students will be able to create their own circular story example. Students will be able to understand how the events of the story lead up to the next event that leads them back to the beginning of the story.
With this lesson, students will learn how to use punctuation in the appropriate places. After students have learned about character traits, have them write a sentence about their traits. After they are done with their sentence, check it and make sure they are able to move forward. Give the students elbow macaroni and instruct them to glue the macaroni where the quotation marks and commas should be placed.

Teachers will collect the maps and directions and distribute them to another pair of students and have them try to find the destination.

Pass out a tag board puzzle piece to each student. Have the students assemble the puzzle and talk about the overall appearance. With this lesson, students learn hand and eye coordination and how to produce art based on their imagination.
